SLOHS Old Gym Remodel

Description: Beginning in Summer 2017, the Old Gym at San Luis Obispo High School will undergo a transformation. The existing gym side wings will be renovated to create large open areas for flexible uses including fitness, weight training and physical education spaces. The west-side wing will house one large 4,100 sf multi-use fitness room that may be sub-divided as needed for specific uses such as spin, weights and other fitness activities. New windows will be added for natural light and views to the sports fields. Another 1,000 sf room will be dedicated for boisterous activities such as aerobics and dance. The east-side wing will consist of one 1,200 sf classroom space as well as a large, 2,710 sf open area for temporary use as the library when Building 100 starts construction and will later be dedicated as flexible space for use by the entire campus. New restroom spaces will be developed.
